V. Gestel - Van het Schip, Maps in books of Russia and Poland, 170; not in Buisman, Scheepers, Waller, etc.
Very popular biography of the Polish King Stanislaus Leszinsky (1677-1766). The author makes the bold statement that by meddling in Polish affairs both Saxony and France have lost millions, but that Russia had risen to power because of it. At the end of the second volume, which runs to the year 1735, a continuation in the near future is promised, but was never published. Spines damaged as usual. Good uncut set.
