Important work on microscopy, here in the third enlarged Dutch edition, by an appreciated authority on the field of microscopes, H. Baker (1698-1774). Baker did valuable work on the teaching of the deaf and dumb, but he was especially noted for his popularization of the use of the microscope and for his contribution to the study of crystals. This edition was enlarged with15 chapters written by the famous Dutch scientist, M. Houttuyn (1720-98), and includes a description of a sun-microscope in chapter 13.
