Some plates are signed by Luisa Ridolfi, Santinaand Carolina Guerrazzi, Piero, Guilia, Luigi and Anna Guiccardini, Domecico Vantini, Orazio Ambra and Anna Bojti. Twentieth-century red cloth, uncut, with pasted title-label on spine.

First and only edition of a work on Brazilian plants, describing over 156 new species of ferns and a few cryptogams. By the Italian botanist Giuseppe Raddi (1770-1829), who is best known for his scientific contributions as a cryptogamist. The work was intended to contain several volumes, but this is the only part published.
Good copy, with two library stamps on the title-page, a small restoration in the margins of the title-page and some occasional foxing. Binding bumped and slightly rubbed.
