French translation of Det Gamle Grønlands ny Perlustration (1741), a description of the natural history of Greenland, with part of the introduction from the author's Omstaendelig og Udførlig Relation (1738). Written by the founder of Nuuk, now the capital of Greenland, Hans Poulsen Egede (1686-1758), a Dano-Norwegian missionary. The translation is attributed to Jean-Baptiste Des Roches de Parthenay.
Very good copy, slightly browned and with some occasional minor spots.
