WITH: Tables des Planches and Chronique Orchidéenne, volume 1 (1-53) and volume 2 (1-9). Contemporary half black morocco, gilt titles on spines.

A nearly complete set of one of the rarest orchid iconographies, issued in a edition of 250 copies only. The total number of plates generally agreed upon is 824 and the work was issued in 64 parts, each containing up to 13 chromolithographs. The excellent chromolithographs were printed by Goffart after watercolours by A. Goosens, who is among the greatest botanical artists of the period.
A very good copy, uncut of an extremely rare and beautiful work on orchids.
