EXTREMELY RARE description of "New Sweden", the Swedish colonies in Pennsylvania and parts of Delaware and New Jersey. "This important work is hardly less scarce than that of Campanius... especially when in good condition; it has, besides, the merit of being much more extensive and of reproducing a large number of documents, partly unpublished... Among (Acrelius') sources we find the Archives of New York, an unpublished Manuscript (evidently very valuable) of A. Rudman, who was Superintendant at Wicacoa in 1679, and who collected all relating to the early history of the Swedish colonies in America, further the Royal Archives at Stockholm, and, besides the Swedish historians: Campanius... Swedberg Biörck etc... It must be regretted that down to this day no complete translation of this work has been published. Its real historical value certainly would procure a place to a translation in many a library to which the original edition is unattainable for its extreme rarity" (Muller). A good copy.
