Ligtenberg and engraved  in the Amsterdam workshop of Cornelis van Baarsel and son; the plate engraved by Leonardus Schweickhart. Designed to accompany the 1821 proposal for draining the lake. With the title on a letterpress label. Original paper-covered boards, the spine blue and the sides brown, with the publisher's title-label on the front board.

Latin manuscript in brown ink on vellum (81.5 x 84.5 cm), in a humanistic hand, with 3 coats of arms (Vogelaer’s 13 x 10.5 cm) in gold and a variety of colours, the words CAROLVS QUINTVS in large decorated gold roman capitals (the initial 10 cm and the rest 4 cm) and some 15 words and hundreds of letters in gold roman capitals, framed by triple lines in gold at left and right. Mounted on a wooden frame.

Manuscript prayerbook in black and red ink on paper, with 21 decorated 2 to 6-line uncial initials in red, black, green and yellow; hundreds of 1 and 2-line uncial initials in red (and 3 in black), some with interior decoration left white; rubrics to prayers written in red; and hundreds of words underlined in red or with their first letter rubricated. Written without ruling but with 15 to 17 lines per page. With 17 pages of prayers added by a user in a German or eastern Netherlands gothic hand. Contemporary blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, with 2 brass catchplates (clasps gone).

A Map of Part of Dutch Guyana; containing the Colonies of Essequebo, Demerary & Berbice, in which are described all the lands granted under the Batavian Government. Surveyed in 1798, and 1802, by Major van Bouchenroeder, with additions.
London, William Faden, 20 November 1804. Large engraved map "designed and engraved by John Roper" on a scale of ca. 1:235,000, comprising 2 1/2 very large sheets (together 74 x 143 cm), with the title below left above two scales and a key to the various plantation crops, untilled land, forest and Indian cabins and villages, and below right a key to the approximately 135 numbered plantations, giving their names and proprietors. Further with a note on the topography of the rivers and their banks. In the present copy, the middle sheet and right-hand half-sheet have been assembled, but the left-hand sheet remains separate, the two resulting parts being stamped  "36" and "37" on their backs.
