Leiden, Pieter vander Aa, ca. 1706 (engraved 1685 and 1698). Small 4to (16.5 x 19.5 cm). Engraved and etched print series, with engraved title-page with a small illustration, in a frame with torture instruments, and 115 engraved and etched numbered illustration plates (11 x 13.5 cm) with captions in French and German. Later tanned and tree-marbled sheepskin in an eighteenth-century style, gold-tooled spine and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, ribbon marker.
