With 3 letterpress title-pages, each with the same woodcut basket of flowers, 3 different engraved title-pages with scrollwork, foliage and (together) 17 insects (adult and larva), an engraved portrait of the author with foliage and numerous insects, and 127 engraved illustration plates with hundreds of figures, numbered in groups I-LXXIX, [LXXX]; 1-51; and A-Z (24 plates include 2 or 3 numbers each, while number XI is spread over 2 plates). Further with 4 woodcut initial letters (plus repeats) and a band of fleurons. Contemporary French calf, gold-tooled spines, marbled endpapers, red edges. Each volume with the eighteenth-century bookplate of "EF" (engraved by J. P. Dupré), with a sea monster.
