Rare official acts of the only three synods held in the city of Malines, in 1570, 1607 and 1609, published by Christoffel Plantin (in 1571) and his son-in-law Jan Moretus (in 1608 & 1609), who succeeded to his Antwerp printing and publishing office. The first work contains the acts of the provincial synod held in Malines from 11 June to 14 July 1570, the first 8vo edition, published by Christoffel Plantin, copies of which still must have been in stock as late as 1609. The colophon states that the book was printed by Christoffel Plantin on 15 December 1570.
The second work, acts of the 1607 synod of the must have sold better, since it appears here in its second edition. At the end it includes a "Placcaet ende ordinancie" in Dutch (pp. 113-127), by the Archduke and Archduchess Albert and Isabel, warning their subjects to observe the decrees of the Malines synod, and summing up the most important church-resolutions in 30 articles in Dutch.
The third work, like the second is in its second edition. It contains the acts of the synod held from 5 to 6 May 1609 in Malines, also presided by Hovius.

Catholica prope Wijhe") and library stamps on first fly-leaf. The first work and the last leaves of the third water-stained, binding slightly damaged at the foot of the spine.
