Engraved, illustrated perpetual wall calendar with 3 dials: for home or office

[ALMANAC]. Eeuwigduurende almanach 1815[-1823].
[The Netherlands, 1814?]. Oblong 4to (19 x 24 cm). Engraved perpetual almanac (engraved image 17.8 x 22.0 cm) with three engraved roundel scenes with windows cut out of them to view engraved dials mounted behind them that can be set to show the year (ranging from 1815 to 1823), the month (also the zodiac sign, the hour of sunrise and sunset, and the length of the day and night) and the days of the week (showing 7 days of the month simultaneously, each with the day of the week and one of the five planets or the sun or moon). The main engraving and the three dials mounted on millboard, each dial turning on a brass pin secured in a small iron plate, and the main engraving partly coloured in red, blue, green and black. In a contemporary wooden frame (21 x 26 cm), with 3 holes cut in the backing board for setting the dials. Full description

Engraved calligraphic title-page (16.5 x 23.8 cm), mezzotint portrait of Bakhuizen (18.5 x 14.4 cm), probably by Jacob Gole, with a 4-line Latin verse by Joan van Broekhuizen printed from a separate plate, and 10 etched plates, the first with a 6-line Dutch verse by Bakhuizen printed from a separate plate. The first plate measures 19.7 x 25.9 cm, the others ca. 17.5 x 23.5 cm. Loose sheets inserted in modern portfolio. Full description

"Paris", sold by Cornelis Danckerts in Amsterdam, 1641. Series of 20 numbered engravings, including the title-print, Barbet's dedication to Cardinal Richelieu, a note to the reader and 17 finely designed and engraved altars and chimney pieces.

Paris, Francois l'Anglois dit Ch(i)artres, [ca. 1645?]. 2 series of engravings, each with an engraved title-print with an elaborately decorated cartouche plus 12 numbered cartouches with scenes. Plate 1 in each series is signed by [Daniel] Rabel (ca. 1578-1637) in Paris as artist and engraver. The title-prints name the publisher Ch(i)artres. 4 works in volume. Folio (32 x 20 cm). Paris, Delahaye (part-titles: printed by Dondey-Dupré), 1843. 5 parts in 3 volumes. Royal 1mo (57 x 42.5 cm). With chromo-lithographed general title-page, tinted lithographed frontispiece, 2 lithographed maps hand-coloured in outline, and 133 lithographed plates (image size up to 44.5 x 30.5 cm, nearly all non-botanical ones tinted and one with 2 chromolithographed and hand-coloured costume prints) by and after artists including Charles Bour, Eugène Flandin, Félix Emmanuel Henri Philippoteaux and Denis Auguste Marie Raffet. Also with lithographed views (and a few lithographed maps) printed in the tail margins at the ends of many chapters, and 45 white-on-black wood-engravings of coins (each with obverse and reverse) in the text. The 72 botanical illustrations on the last 10 lithographed plates are coloured by hand and highlighted with gum arabic. The non-botanical plates have the publisher's embossed stamp in the foot margin. Contemporary, uniform dark green half goatskin morocco with a gold-tooled spine. Full description
