Advertorial almanac for 1922 by Chocolate Foucher, one of the oldest chocolate and sweets houses of Paris. In the 19th century, it was fairly common for chocolate confectioners in Paris to gift their most valued clients an almanac as a new year's gift. The present work was likely a recreation of that practice. It consists of a calendar for 1922, with the saint of each day mentioned. Printed on the leaves in between the months are the specialties of Chocolate Foucher, such as raisins d'or, coralines, or marrons glacés. At the end follow postal rates and prices. The work offer insight into the history of the company and of sweets in Paris in the early 1920s.
The wrappers are slightly frayed around the edges, the staple in the middle is starting to rust. The leaves are lightly browned. Otherwise in good condition. Not in WorldCat.
