First editions of two very rare works on the observation of the human urine ("piskijken") which is the author describes as very profitable and necessary to diagnose many illnesses. The second work adds medications for the illnesses diagnosed. Both were written by the Amsterdam physician Antonius Eygel (1621-1674), who took his doctors degree in 1644 in Harderwijk. A second edition of the first work appeared in 1677. Eygel opposes in the third part of the first book the works of Petrus Forestus (De incerto, fallacy, urinarum iudicio (1589)) and Guilielmus Statenus.
Owners inscription of Petrus Didericus van Heimerberg, physician and burgomaster of Kampen, dated 20 August 1776 on the first endleaf, Jewish bookplate in roundel on the front paste-down.
