Rare, second much enlarged edition of an encyclopaedia of commerce by Jacques Savary (1622-1690), the most famous economist of his time, posthumously published by his brother Philemon Louis Savary. It was the first publication of its kind and contains here for the first time the two supplement volumes 3 and 4 (here bound together in one volume).
Minor spots throughout and a few leaves with some marginal water stains, otherwise in very good condition. Bindings slightly rubbed along the extremities and the endpapers browned, otherwise also very good. Bierens de Haan 4136-4137; STCN (5 copies); cf. Cat. Goldsmith vol. I, 6181; Einaudi 5099; Kress 4584.
