Unrecorded ordinance issuing the merchants of Maastricht to sell provisions at fixed prices to the military troops stationed near the city for a period of three weeks. The provisions included liquor, meat, rice, cheese etc. Because of the War of the Austrian Succession, several troops were gathered around Maastricht including allied Hungarian, German and Dutch troops, as well as hostile French troops, who had just conquered parts of Belgium.
