Rare first edition of the first pharmacopoeia for the Kingdom of Bohemia, together with the official 1737 pricelist of medicaments. From 1729 on, all apothecaries in Vienna had to comply with a new pharmacopoeia, the: Dispensatorium pharmaceuticum Austriaco-Viennense: in quo hodierna die usualiora medicamenta secundum artis regulas componenda visuntur. Eight years later, the second edition (1737) was granted legal status throughout all Austrian territories (including the Austrian Netherlands). Several editions were published in Vienna to 1774, but it had no legal status in Prague, the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia, because Bohemia had its own legal status within the Habsburg Empire. In 1739, the Medical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague therefore prepared its own pharmacopoeia offered here.
With a small stain on the front cover, corners bumped, slightly browned at some places (not affecting text), otherwise in good condition. Schelenz, p. 567; not in Blake; Wellcome.
