First and only edition of the first fascicule on the taxonomy of invertebrates in the Kingdom of Naples, by the Neapolitan zoologist, botanist, anatomist and physician Stefano Delle Chiaje (1794-1860)
On the same subject and in the same mould Chiaje published later his Descrizione e notomia degli animali Invertebrati della Sicilia Citeriore (1841-44) in which he gave a profound synthesis of the results he had published already in the present work on the vertebrates of Naples ca. 15 years earlier.
