Fourth, corrected Dutch edition of the first six books of Euclids Elements, translated and edited by the surveyor Jan Pieterszoon Dou. The Elements is a mathematical and geometrical treatise consisting of in total 13 books written by the Greek Euclid in Alexandria in circa 300 BC. It comprises a collection of definitions, postulates (axioms), propositions (theorems and constructions), and mathematical proofs of the propositions, covering Euclidean geometry and the ancient Greek version of elementary number theory.
