First edition of an extensive list of insects found in Paris and its surroundings, compiled by the French chemist Antoine François de Fourcroy (1755-1809) and the French entomologist and pharmacist Étienne Louis Geoffroy (1725-1810). The insects are arranged according to their taxonomy, with very brief remarks on their appearance and habitat and their French names.
With the bookplate of Lionel George Higgins on paste-down. He was a fellow of the Royal Entomological Society and co-author of the Field guide to butterflies of Britain and Europe (1970). Two leaves (pp. VII-1) restored at the gutter. Spine discoloured. Overall in very good condition. Hagen I, p. 246; Horn & Schenkling 6923.
