One of three issues of an interesting letter written by H.N.v.G., dated Amsterdam, 27 January 1680 in answer to a letter by his friend dated 23 January. The writer gives his opinion on the state of affairs in The Netherlands in relation to its neighbors England and France, esp. on the defensive Alliance recently offered to the Dutch Republic by the King of France.
