First edition, originally published in 12 installments, of a beautiful series of lithographed views of all the famous old Dutch houses and gardens, newly designed and wel executed by the most famous lithographers of the period, P. Lauters, M. Mourot, C.C.A. Last, etc. The views show castles and houses such as Duurstede, Hofwijck, Sorgvliet, Toutenburgh, Wildenborch, Orxma State, Zoelen, and numerous others. The beautiful illustrations are all situated in different environments: some in winter with skaters on the icy moats, some in summer with animals grazing and people strolling in the foreground, a few at night illuminated by the moon.
With a booksellers label of Le Tour du monde in Paris and a catalogue fragment mounted on the front pastedown. The binding shows signs of wear, the boards are rubbed with some loss of material, foxing and browning throughout. Otherwise in good condition.
