[NEEDLE CASE]. [Elaborate gilded openwork metal needle case in the form of a miniature book].
[The Netherlands?, circa 1700]. 45 x 43 cm. The "boards", as well as the "spine" of the gilded metal case are in an openwork floral design with scrolling foliage with a standing eagle in the centre. One clasp closure in the middle of the front edge. Both "boards" set with 8 small round cabochon agates (diametre: 7 mm). Full description
