The map shows the world from the North Pole to the South Pole and from California at the left to Australia at the right, with a detailed projection of the norther hemisphere with the North Pole at the centre in the upper right corner, the whole map nicely hand-coloured in outline, and with explanatory printed text leaves mounted underneath in 16 columns. 12 engraved sheets joined to form the large wall-map, with the printed text mounted below, the whole mounted on linen mounted between two black wooden rods at the head and foot of the map.
