With a richly engraved illustrated title page (with general title and undated imprint for the whole collection) drawn by Crispijn van de Passe the younger and engraved by Cornelis van Dalen, and 8 letterpress title pages for the 4 separate publications (also issued separately), all dated 1656 (that for volume 2 of the second work names no publisher, but shares a quire with the last leaf of volume 1), plus 2 divisional title pages without imprint (another subdivision has merely a drop-title). 5 of the title pages have the woodcut "konst baert roem" publishers device first used by Adriaen van de Venne in The Hague in 1628 (also used by Jan Friedrik Stam in 1657); ad 2, volume 2 has an engraved human anatomical figure; ad 3, part 1 has a woodcut decoration with 2 satyrs blowing horns. With 55 engravings in the text and 3 full-page engraved human anatomical plates, woodcut tailpieces and woodcut decorated initials. Set in roman type with incidental italic and textura, plus occasional words in Greek. 18th-century sprinkled half calf, sewn on 5 supports laced into the boards, sprinkled paper sides, black morocco spine label.
