A doctorate obtained by Lucas Walkier, a Leiden student in Padua in 1662, written on vellum and bound in vellum with contemporary Italian gold-tooled fan design

[MANUSCRIPT - Lucas WALKIER (subject)]. [The official graduation diploma awarded to Lucas Walkier on the occasion of obtaining the doctorate in medicine at the University of Padua on 22 February 1662]
Padua, 22 February 1662. Ad 1: ca. 24.5 x 19 cm.; ad 2: 12.6 x 20 cm.; ad 3: 47 x 45.5 cm.; ad 4: 46 x 29.3 cm. Ad 1: with the beautifully hand-coloured painted oval portrait of Lucas Walkier in a laurel wreath, facing his coat of arms, both within a hand-coloured and heightened with gold floral border. This is followed by the neatly calligraphed text in dark brown ink and highlighted in gold, written within frames of double gold lines. All written and drawn on vellum. Ad 2: a hand-coloured and hand-drawn coat of arms, captioned below in manuscript: Walkier. Ad 3: a broadsheet (folded, printed text within ornamental woodcut border: 30 x 45.5 cm) with the blind-stamped seal of the "Natio Germanica" in Padua, and 4 engraved coats of arms (ca. 7 x 6.5 cm) printed in the four corners. Ad 4: printed on blue silk, within a floral border of 4 blocks, and crowned. With:
